The limitations of each level when rotating the pieces, when relocate the pieces (after they have been located) or even when you use hints (Yes, many levels prevent the use of hints) will be determining factors in order to solve the more complex puzzles.

The only thing that is permitted, every level, is to use your brain and the three-dimensional perception to solve puzzles. Something that is not only allowed but it is highly recommended.
