I've really enjoyed using this app throughout my pregnancy. There are some weird grammar errors here and there but the content is great.
Pleasant artwork, calming graphics and just enough information to educate and help you but not overwhelm. This app does not dive deep scientifically, its more of a gentle guide and I love that! Thank you for making this. Other have pointed out that the app interchanges he and she when talking about the baby. This does not bother me. The icons shown are a white straight couple. I'm asian and this does not bother me.
I really really wanted to love this app. I love that that they don't sell your data. I love the illustration style. I paid for the whole year up front then was immediately disappointed as soon as I started exploring the app itself. There's no symptom tracking and not much about development. Fine. But the worst is the cutesy article titles often obscure what the content will be. I found myself on articles that weren't relevant to me or actively had bad advice (like normalizing verbal abuse).
This app unique, fun and creative. Gives practical info, is funny and not much pastel to be seen. The fetal images are good but all apps have those. Took off 1 star because its content doesn't have diverse representation. The one couple used as avatars throughout are clearly straight and white. Lost 2nd star bc it promotes and includes info from promamfit, which discourages exercise in the first 13 weeks, saying it can dislodge the fetus. There is no evidence to support this.Exercise pros > cons
I like a lot of this app. One distracting and disappointing part, though, is that baby is given a gender/pronouns and it defaults to he/him/his. This erases so many other genders and nonbinary folks, including women/girls. Pretty upsetting when most of the people who would use this app probably identify as women. This antiquated reference to gender seems really odd, especially when it's so easy to say 'baby' or 'little one'. I'll update this to 5 stars if this is changed in throughout."
